Thanks to the website www.helenarubinstein-lelivre.com I could participate in an interview Bettina Rheims one of my favorite photographers. Here are the questions I asked him:
-
Seeing your last show "Rose is paris" I liked it, I wondered if eventually your eyes on women not men because they are so desirable.
I think it's precisely because I am a woman and I'm in a relationship of complete trust and intimacy with my models that I manage to get them this incredible sensuality. desire between us, but it is purely photographic: that of an artist for his model. Being a woman has nothing to do with it.
-
there were photographs that you did not dare to do (I think the series House Close for example)? Do you set limits in your work? if so, why?
I would say that there are more pictures that I have not yet done. The limit is for me not to injure, not to hurt the women I photograph, and they can leave the studio proud of what they have done and also having learned something new may be on themselves.
-
What are you working on now? What are your future plans?
This year is sort of a transition year. After great adventures like the one I lived with "Rose" (at least two years of work). I need a hand to call the studio on the road, we orders for magazines, advertising, and also time for me that will, hopefully, soon to be born a new project. My work has always been marked by these two different activities, the purely artistic and another applied a little more, sometimes as a craft, but at the end of the day the two often intersect.
